Manti and its surrounding areas of San Pete County were a wonderful place for a person to settle their families in because of it’s nearby warm spring, and the large limestone quarries for buildings. There were many farming and grazing lands through out the valley that one could find years of happiness in being a part of. This original painting By Ella Peacock just invites you to step into that spirit of this little home that has seen many days of happiness and joy. The beautiful hills and mountains surrounding it have brought beautiful sunrises and sunsets to enjoy each day. Ella Peacock did most of her paintings of this area in her 60’s, using the same styles and color hues that she loved when she painted in the 30’s. Ella died at the age of 93 and remembered often her days of the dairy farm they had worked and lived on earlier in her life.
